Variety, the children’s charity, will celebrate 80 years of giving and 80 years of the Academy Awards next month in a spectacular celebration that journeys through movie history.
All and sundry are invited to dress as their favourite Hollywood screen idols for the charity organisation’s annual signature social event, the Heart of Variety Ball, at Crown Palladium on 4 July and experience the thrill of the red carpet as they rub shoulders with the stars.
Hosted by Variety Ambassador and Network 10 celebrity Mike Larkin, the evening will feature entertainment by Rhonda Burchmore, the Daryl McKenzie Orchestra as well as an exciting young talent showcase.
Variety CEO Norm Hutton said he was looking forward to a ‘showstopper evening’ and raising lots of money for Victoria’s Special Needs Children.
“The Heart of Variety Ball is one of the biggest and most spectacular events on our calendar and this year’s event is set to be even more impressive than the last,” Mr Hutton said.
“Along with some fantastic entertainment and a number of fun surprises, we’ll also be honouring a prominent children’s entertainer through our annual Heart of Show Business Award.”
To help exceed the evening’s fundraising target of $200,000, guests will be able to participate in silent auctions, numerous raffles and an on-the-spot auction for a brand new car. There’s also the option of upgrading tickets to VIP treatment, whereby guests will receive gift bags and premium seating on special tables themed to Academy Award-winning films.
Last year, via a range of fundraising initiatives like the Heart of Variety Ball, Variety distributed around 100 grants – with a total value of more than $2 million – to individuals and organisations, providing opportunities and equipment to improve the lives of thousands of children.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of a spectacular evening where YOU are the star and assist Variety with its important work in raising funds for Special Needs Children. Book your tickets now!
