After 15 years of loyal service with Honda, Tim Davies has resigned from the position of marine manager.
Instrumental in establishing Honda four-stroke outboards as the premium outboard brand in Australia, Mr Davies said he was leaving the company with the knowledge its marine division was “in very good shape”.
“Lead by the most experienced management team in the marine industry and with the support of its national dealer and servicing network, I’ve no doubt Honda will continue to be the leading force in advanced four-stroke technology,” Mr Davies said.
“Considering Honda outboards were only introduced to the Australian marine market in the mid-1990s, the reputation the brand enjoys is the result of a lot of hard work from all involved – a commendable effort!”
Mr Davies said his decision to leave Honda at this time was extremely difficult given the fact Honda’s marine division was on the brink of a very exciting period over the next few years.
“Following the recent introduction and success of the new BF75/90, Honda is now preparing to launch the completely-redesigned BF40/50 next month, with several other new models due to be released in the not too distant future,” he said.
“With Honda destined to reach even greater heights in the years ahead it was a very tough decision to move on, but I’m looking forward to the new challenge ahead of me.”
Mr Davies has accepted a position as marine manager with carsales.com Ltd. – Australia’s #1 Automotive, Motorcycle, Industry and Marine classifieds business – and will leave Honda at the end of this month.
