Honda’s BF40/50 continues to lead the world as the lightest, quietest, most fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly four-stroke outboard in its class.
As further testament to Honda’s advanced engineering, several commercial operators around the country have recently clocked up in excess of 10,000 work hours on their engines – adding proven superior reliability to the BF40/50’s long list of impressive attributes.
Honda Marine manager Tim Davies said such an extended operational life in Australia’s harsh marine environment was unheard of among other engine brands.

Designed to pack maximum power and easy handling into a compact and lightweight unit, Honda’s BF40/50 boasts an incredible power-to-weight ratio and consumes up to 50 per cent less fuel than conventional two-stroke engines.
Honda is also the only company in Australia to have its entire outboard engine range achieve the Outboard Engine Distributors Association’s (OEDA) three-star rating for ultra-low emissions.
