Trailerable boat hire company Boab Boat Hire will launch two new franchise businesses at this week’s Sydney International Boat Show.
The two new franchises – Hawkesbury and Port Stephens – will service the northern Sydney and Central Coast regions, providing locals and tourists with an affordable alternative to boat ownership.
Boab Boat Hire director Paul Gelfius said the company differed from traditional boat hire operations, in that its boats could be towed to any destination for a day, a weekend, a week or longer.
“It’s an innovative business model that has proven extremely popular in and around Sydney, south to Wollongong and Jervis Bay, where we have other hire locations in the state,” Mr Gelfius said.
“Hiring a boat through Boab is as easy as hiring a car – customers can tow boats away themselves, or we can even deliver a boat to a specified location and have it waiting on the water for them when they arrive!”
Boab Boat Hire offers the choice of several fully-equipped, fuel-efficient vessels – a large Centre Cab powered by a Honda BF150, a Sports Rider with a Honda BF90, a Kimberley All Rounder (bass/barra boat) with a Honda BF75, and a Runabout with a Honda BF50 – to cater for all general boating requirements. Boats are fitted with quality marine electronics, safety gear and other essential equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable time on the water.
“We have a very broad range of customers… families on day trips, anglers, couples getting away for the weekend, watersports enthusiasts and everyone in between,” Mr Gelfius said.
“Given most boat owners use their boats around 28 days a year, hiring is a viable option to having tens of thousands of dollars sitting in the garage for months at a time.”
