The Anchorage Marina, Williamstown, is offering individual boats a free overnight stay until the end of the AFL season.
Located ‘where the river meets the bay’, boat owners are invited to take advantage of all the marina’s complimentary facilities, including the use of luxury ensuites, 240V power and wireless high-speed internet.
The Anchorage Marina is a state-of-the-art Bellingham floating marina, which recently replaced the ageing Parsons Marina. With over 100 berths, it is an example of the latest in marina technology and first-class facilities. The marina also offers a full range of professional vessel servicing, including mechanical and electrical rigging, shipwrights, slipping, cleaning and anti-fouling.
A major drawcard for the free September stopover is the marina’s Anchorage Restaurant, which is long-renowned as one of Melbourne’s top destinations for fresh seafood.
Situated just a few metres from your moored boat, the restaurant overlooks the bay, with stunning views of the city. The building – a former boat shed – has retained the charm of its original incarnation, with naval paraphernalia, marine photography and even an old timber dinghy stacked on the ceiling rafters.
Terry O’Hare, who has owned and operated the marina and restaurant for a quarter-century, said a free overnight stay was a great opportunity for boat owners to experience all The Anchorage had to offer and to check out local attractions.
“Owners can cruise in and make themselves comfortable, stay the night and enjoy a top-notch meal at the Anchorage Restaurant for lunch or dinner, before wandering around Williamstown and surrounds, enjoying the historic suburb’s charm,” Mr O’Hare said.
For owners seeking a more permanent home for their vessel, The Anchorage Marina also has a selection of permanent berths available, although these are filling rapidly.
This free overnight offer refers to individual boats only; however, The Anchorage Marina welcomes large groups and clubs – please call to discuss arrangements.
